The One Who Eats the Onion Deserves a Prize!

(I can't help but say that in the voice of Buffalo Bill..."She puts the lotion in the basket or she gets the hose." ... don't ask!)

I've made a ton of concessions and compromises in my marriage, but none as big as my decision to force a liking for onions. Yes you would think that stopping after three kids, (which turned out to be a good compromise in the end...) handing over the super fluffy feather pillow, (this is a close second) or moving to an entirely new city to accommodate a job change would be bigger sacrifices, BUT no...

Learning to like the onion is by far the largest change I have made for my husband.




Before I met the love of my life I could barely walk into a room that smelled of rotten onion juiciness. I could not fathom eating an ounce of food the awful root had plagued with it's juices. And if you ate anything onion related you might as well stay over there....in the next room...at LEAST 20ft away from me.

So it is with great pride that I announce today, that last night I ate cooked onion...PLAIN cooked onion, well ok, sauteed onion, with my dinner!

AND

I liked it!

Considering a Change

I've been exceeding my word goals on NaNo by large amounts and I am super excited. My book is coming along quite nicely, ok well ... it kinda sucks considering I'm just trying to push out words. But I am writing, and for the most part I am getting the story out and providing myself with something to work with in the editing process. All and all a very good start.

You may have noticed however that I was missing yesterday. All this writing has left my brain incapable of thinking of anything that does not directly include my story, thus I could not for the life of me come up with a blog topic yesterday.

BUT

Its ok.

Jody Hedlund wrote a great post today about building a platform and when you should start. I've been thinking about that a great deal lately. I've been so wrapped up in the blogging world and keeping my twitter going and trying to make my name known to anyone and everyone that I have thrown my writing into the back seat and it's just been sitting there quietly. (unlike my children while they are in the back seat!) I almost forgot what it felt like to write.

Now granted building a platform WILL help me in the long run, if I'm not writing and not progressing, what good is it going to do me.

I've noticed quite a few of my blogging friends only write 3 days a week. I am considering doing the same myself. I think I have just been afraid that if I stop writing everyone will forget me! At the same time I have noticed that I have been so busy plopping out blog posts about incredibly irrelevant crap that no one is really reading my posts anyway. That's not cool! I love my readers. I don't want to bore them!!! You guys are awesome!

So what do you think? Will you forget me if I move down to 3 days a week? Will you miss me?

Little Bitty

"It's all right to be Little bitty..."

And I should know, seeing as I am considerably Little Bitty myself. It was even my nick name at one point, Little Bit. Actually there are a number of things that are super cool and Little Bitty...

1. Gnomes!!! Little Bitty gnomes ROCK!!!2. My kids are super mini...barely on the charts. Ok who am I kidding, they aren't on the charts. But they are WAY COOL! (Ususually...)



3. Let's be frank...dogs and cats are WAY better when they are Little Bitty Babies. Way Cuter!



4. Can you say "Mini Edward"?!?!

Ok well he's probably not AS COOL as the real one...but still....

5. Ummm....mini carrots are kinda cool. Way easier to eat!

So I've made a few Little Bitty changes to the side bar of my blog. I added a picture of and link to my Website. I've also added a little "Grab My Button" a bit more towards the bottom. Cha Cha Cha Changes!!!

What a great song. Personally I don't think David Bowie when I hear that song, I think of Shrek. Tell tale sign ... I'm a mom! Still, my Dear Husband insisted Davie Bowie was the way to go. And since Dear Husband is the inspiration behind my newest change, I indulged him.

What is the change you ask? (NO I am NOT pregnant!!! Why do people always make that assumption first? I have 3 children for goodness sake! That is more than enough for crazy me to handle!)

My new change involves my novel. After discussing, trying to rewrite a scene in my manuscript, and MORE discussing, I have decided to move an entire chapter. AN ENTIRE CHAPTER!!! (And you were going to tell me I wasn't crazy a moment ago weren't you?) Here I thought the revisions on my first draft would be all grammar and spelling. Oh no, this is Marybeth we are talking about....Break out the full plot changes and chapter moving. No need to keep it simple or anything. That would be way too easy! Who would want to leave all the pain and suffering to the query letter alone?
