The Thing About Long Hair...

I've been growing my hair out for over a year now. (What? This is very important information! Of course you need to know!) This is a good thing, I totally prefer me with long hair. See....

Ok totally horrible picture, but you get the point. It's pretty long. And although I've tried it many times, I'm just not a fan of it short.

But back to my original issue. There is one thing I absolutely dislike about long hair.

Getting out of the shower and taking my hair out of the towel and that wet mop of freezing cold landing on my bare back! BRRRRRR!!!

Ok now that I've gotten that out I feel much better.

Aren't you glad you stuck around for that information? (Oh come on Scott...I totally could have done worse!)

Getting Jipped from My Snow Day!

At first I missed GR. All my friends were there, my family, my favorite Target. I wrote it letters, I begged all my friends to move with me, and I cried for hours on end! It was a very rough time or me. (Ok well I didn't really cry, except when I found out Target was half way across town. That was a rough moment.)

Things got a little better. I made some friends in Lansing. I got to go to some MSU games. (Go Sparty!) I got used to the smell. (If you weren't aware, Lansing has a NASTY smell. It's a cross between a landfill and burnt food. Not pleasant. But you get used to it. Kinda like Bay City and the sugar beats!) My friends from GR even come to visit me every so often. (I love you guys!!!)

I came to terms with my move. All was going well.

And then it snowed.

At first I was all, "Ha ha GR, you guys suck. I don't have snow and you doooooo!"

Sure it was immature and slightly mean, but what's a girl to do?

I felt good about my smug attitude. I laughed at their misery and reveled in the fact I had moved so far away from the crappy weather. (I don't understand why my friends don't visit me more often. I am Such A Great Friend!)

And then it happened.

They popped up all over Facebook ... Status Updates like ...

Snow Day :o/ ...

Drive safe out there.......I know I won't be leaving my house today.......so be safe out there.....

To go back to bed, or help husband shovel? hrmmmm tough call.

Hopes that the e-mail and text notification system she set up at school worked for all those who signed up. I received my text within 5 minutes of it being posted on Facebook

That's right. GR equals snow day today and Lansing equals getting out of bed and getting the kids ready and trudging out in the slush and and and...

Can I move back to GR now?

Fall Fell Early

Apparently autumn decided to arrive a few months early. Now I know most people would be upset with this new development, but me, not so much. Where as I'm not interested in the snow and the frost, I'm more than happy to throw on my sweatshirt and ... well ... not sweat.

I wasn't too into this summer. I enjoyed the warm weather. I enjoyed my central air a bit more though. It was my first year with central air and I took advantage of it at every moment possible. Because we were so busy there were no trips to the beach (not so happy about that) and most of our swimming was done indoors at the gym.

In essence, it kinda feels like summer didn't really happen. This year has absolutely flown by.

Sill, I can't explain how excited I am for the fall season. I adore the things that come with fall, apples, pumpkins, apple cider, sweaters, colored leaves, etc. I'm interested to see what takes place in the new city I lived in. As a child I can remember going to the same place every year, Robinette's, and standing next to the giant Apple and over grown pumpkins. I hope there is somewhere equally as cool here!

So how do you feel about the early arrival of falling leaves?
