The Return of Phantastic Phriday

Phantastic Phriday was a little thing I started last year. Each post gets the phollowing heading and we go phrom there! (My phavorite post being this one.)

Ok so I got so into thinking about my love phor Phantastic Phriday's that I totally phorgot what I was actually going to write about! How dare me! And here I thought my mine was working at least phiphty percent better than yesterday.

Well whatever the idea, it is gone. So there is no other choice than to go with a new idea. I'm a writer, I've got plenty oph ideas. This should be easy...right? OPH COURSE!

So Irons. (What?! I looked around my room an it was the phirst things I saw!)

My husband is phanatical about ironing his clothing. And well at one point the iron that we owned was less than mediocre. It was all rusted out and it had a tendency to burn a shirt here and there out oph sheer dephiance. That's right! We had a dephiant Iron!

That Christmas we were short on phunds (oh wait...that's Every Christmas! LOL) and I thought I would get my husband something practical that he could use, but something he liked ... and I made the mistake oph buying him an iron!

Ok wait wait wait. I didn't pick out just any old iron. I picked out THE iron. It had a digital display (phor the digital computer genius) it was green and it was lovely. I was SO proud oph this gipht. And I'm talking SUPER proud, can't believe I thought oph such a great gipht proud!

I mean look at this little guy! Isn't he hot!!!

So I opened up my giphts, I think he got me an MP3 player or something, and then I hand him his. I'm bouncing up and down in my seat so super excited and he opens it .... and and

He laughed! (I think that should totally be spelled lauphed today though...what do you think?)

Yes he laughed. Because I bought him an iron.... To him it was suggesting he should probably do a bit more ironing. And phor the rest oph the day I was the running joke...wait not that would be phor the last three years(ish) I have been the running joke. Sigh... He even had me lauphing by the end oph the day.

Christmas Gipht PHAIL!

BUT he loves his iron! So THERE!!!

Phantastic Phriday Gnome Style

***In honor of it being Phriday, and in rephusal to submit to boredom,and since it's been awhile since I've phantastically ph'ed, I have decided that the Letter F shall phrom here on out be replaced with a PH (except phor in pictures which I have no control over)***

Once upon a time there was a little gnome. His name was Gnorbert. Gnorbert liked to roam the phorest looking phor pharies and big brown bears. On day Gnorbert got a cold and had to spend the day sleeping in the garden.

Yep...that's the extent of my creative juices phor the day. Luckily there are a phew days lepht bephore NaNoWriMo and ... well I can at least hope the juices juice up!

Until then all I can leave you with is Gnorbert and his cold and how a wicked witch phound him and gave him some GniteQuill and he slept happily ever aphter.

Don't phret. Next week will be better. I'll get some sleep and ... oh who am I kidding. I've ophicially gone wonky! Here's hoping I get my juices and my mind back bephore next week!

Phantastic Phriday ... with a Twist

Today however, I am not going to abide by my own rules. * GASP * But I have something very important to post about today.

Tomorrow is the beginning of Batten Awareness Days. Consider this your Personal Invitation!!!

Oh? What? You didn't know what Batten is? Yeah, unfortunately neither did my family when my nephew Jacob, now 6 years old, was diagnosed with it. Jacob has been diagnosed with a rare degenerative disease called Neuronal Ceroid-Lipofuscinoses (NCL). Also referred to as Batten Disease. It is believed that he has an unknown variant of the late infantile form (LINCL). Currently there is no cure for this and Jacob is now considered terminally ill. He is unlikely to make to the age of 12 years old.



Although it is unlikely that they will find a cure in time to help Jacob, our family is doing everything we can to raise awareness about this disease to help other families with children who are battling the same illness. PLEASE take a moment to look at their website and become a fan of his page as well as share it with someone you know to get the word out there.

GNAME MY GNOME!

When my phirst Blog winner over at Words Words Words posted her award to day she got the question, "Does the Gnome have a gname?" And I thought, "OMG!!! I never even considered naming him. But we MUST name him. He can't go on gnameless any longer! I need YOUR help! (Why is it I think oph Dora the Explorer every time I say that?)

Phantastic Phriday - Oooooooooo Scary!

I've been pondering a question lately. (See what querying does to a person!!! All these questions and memories and AHHHHH!) I can't decide which is more terriphing. Success or Phailure? Here are my explanations phor both phears.

Phear oph Phailure

Somewhat self explanatory. No one wants to be a phailure. All the rejection hurts and tears down on our self confidence. It makes you wonder if you are always going to be a phailure, which is unlikely, (I'm taking the Poster Paint out to my card board box JUST INCASE this afternoon. One needs to be prepared!) but the pheeling is there regardless.

Phear oph Success

A bit more complicated. Most people crave success, as do I. But I'm still terriphied of it! My entire liphe would change. (No need to worry about Poster Paints, someone give me the number phor a contractor! He can do the painting!) Some oph my problems would disapear, but what iph new ones arrise? Will I become a diphpherent person? Will my phamily still love me iph I change? See how scary that sounds!!!

I am not sure which scares me more, but I did hit send on my phirst query letter today, so maybe it is Phailure. But then again, it was Nathan Bransphord...kinda shooting high with that one, maybe it really is Success.

Which scares you more? Phailure or Success?

Phantastic Phriday - Rephlections!

I thought I would rephlect upon April, my phirst PHULL month of blogging. **The Dora Explorer band is playing their little ditty in the background in celebration!-And now I am singing "We did it, we did it, we made it through a month of blogging, yeah we did it. HOORAY!!!" (Especially impressive aphter climbing up the Gooey Geyser!) OKKKKAAAAY, moving along. (It's not completely apparent that I have children is it???)**

So, main conclusion about April...April Sucks! Ok, so besides that...

Not ALL oph April sucked. Some really good posts did come out oph my misphortunes!!!

Take Roger the Ant phor example. Although he was discovered on the last day oph March, the Saga continued to take phorm throughout April. If you missed it, check it out phrom beginning, to middle, to the TRAGIC and SURPRISING (conphusing) ending!!!!

Other GOOD things that happened this month were...

**My baby turned 8...she is ophphicially the proper age to start doing the dishes and laundry! (Do ya think she's old enough phor cooking dinner? Probably not since she can't reach the stove eh...)

**Aphter spending a week at the in-laws phor spring break, I realized how much I prepher my bed to an air mattress!

**I purchased my phirst CrackBerry - It's like a right oph passage, almost like puberty!

**I got a REALLY cute new shirt.

**I got the phlu, wait that's not so good. WAIT!!! It was NOT the Swine Phlu though!

**I reached 78 phollowers on Twitter

**I completed my edits on 15 PHULL chapters and transphered them to MS Word AND almost 1/2 phinished the rest. (1/2 phinished equals 1st edits, still waiting on 2nd and hopephully last edits on those)

AND MOST IMPORTANT!!!

**I made a phew great new phriends via the Blogosphere (ooooh that ph belonged there!)

I can't wait to see what May brings me/us! (Minus that whole aging thing that's about to happen next week....sigh....)

Phantastic Phriday - Shampoo or Mountain Dew?

Sitting in my shower the other day (Yes the cat is out oph the bag, I sit in my shower! I'm lazy, why stand when you can sit? Sitting is MUCH more relaxing!)

As I was saying...Sitting in my shower the other day (PHOCUS people! Sitting is perphectly normal!....I think...)

One more time...Sitting in my shower the other day, I looked at my Shampoo bottle and read "Now with Phructose and Glucose!" I paused a moment.....Phructose and Glucose eh?...in Shampoo....Am I the only one who phinds this to be awkward and slightly problematic?

Interpretation - By adding Corn Syrup and Yellow Number 5 to my Shampoo, I would have a excellent bottle oph Mountain Dew. No?

Nothing better than the end to an insanely long and hectic week. Phriday could not have come sooner to me, but I'm glade it's here!

Trying to keep up with #queryday today on Twitter! Easier said than done! But quite entertaining to say the least. I'm hoping I'll be able to catch up tonight when I get back home. Iph you haven't had a chance to look at #queryday and you are writer, I suggest you take a look. Not to be conphused with #queryphail, which seemed to have bombed out!

Unphortunately I have a phuneral to go to today, so there is not much time to write one oph my super awesome phantastic blogs. But I wish you all a Phantastic Phriday and I hope your day moves swiphtly!
