The Thing About Long Hair...

I've been growing my hair out for over a year now. (What? This is very important information! Of course you need to know!) This is a good thing, I totally prefer me with long hair. See....

Ok totally horrible picture, but you get the point. It's pretty long. And although I've tried it many times, I'm just not a fan of it short.

But back to my original issue. There is one thing I absolutely dislike about long hair.

Getting out of the shower and taking my hair out of the towel and that wet mop of freezing cold landing on my bare back! BRRRRRR!!!

Ok now that I've gotten that out I feel much better.

Aren't you glad you stuck around for that information? (Oh come on Scott...I totally could have done worse!)

MaryBeth - you make me smile! ;o) Seriously. I have been growing mine out as well and I totally understand the after-shower-horse-hair-flop. It is a bizarre feeling..I also dislike when after you have blown your hair dry there is still one small section in the back underneath that just isn't dry yet and clings...ugh. But goodness knows I prefer it long...promise.

I just love when that happens!!! It's like, "Come on already! Don't make me run my straightener over you! You'll be sorry. Especially when I set it on super hot!"

But is that spot ever convinced? Not a chance! Sigh....

LOL... so here's what I do to avoid the wet-hair flop:

1) Dry hair with towel
2) Tilt head to one side
3) Run comb through hair, keeping head tilted on one side or the other so it doesn't have a CHANCE to hit my back (shudder)
4) Grab hair elastic or clip and put wet hair up while I get dressed/makeup/etc.
5) THEN let my hair down to dry it... and by then it's not so bad, because I have clothes on and it's had a few minutes to dry... and it gets blow-dried right away anyway!

That's why I always wrap mine in a towel before I get out of the shower. :-)

Yep, I totally understand. Which is why I always wrap mine in a towel, get dressed and THEN let lose the freezing strands of ice.

Putting it up in a clip for a few mins works well too.

Kudos on the growing. It takes forever.

this was definitely important information. Thanks for sharing with us :)

I think it's funny that your long hair is almost as short as my shortest hair cut. I went just barely shoulder-length last summer and felt like I was a shorn sheep.

But your hair looks good that length!

Okay, rambling comments like this is why I should not be on the computer after midnight :)

You need a "hair towel" to remedy this. Similar to a hand towel, but instead of drying your hands with it, you have it wrapped around your head. I personally used to want long hair, but the baby fine wisps led to too many "what do you do with this" ponytail days. As you know, I chopped it and I'm not going back. lol
