Saying Goodbye to Summer

And so the busy season is kicked off! School is starting next week and this week is full of last minute shopping, training the kids to wake up early and getting in all our last play dates of the summer!

This year I am going to be insanely busy with only one car and no buses for the kids. I'm going to be a driving machine! (Please feel free to conjure up a mental picture there.)

Now I need to come up with a schedule to fit in becoming a taxi service, blogging, writing and all my other new side work WHILE trying to prepare my 4 year old for kindergarten next year and fitting in a play date (for my sanity) here and there. I am being forced to say goodbye to my lazy summer ways. I think this constitutes a memorial service for my lazy ways. Sniff Sniff. I really did enjoy them.

So how is your summer winding down? Are you ready for all the hustle and bustle the school year brings?

I am NOT ready... new school year, working out of two classrooms, new administration, teaching new classes, 7 different preps (any secondary teacher will tell you, this is INSANE), teaching from 8am to 5pm, taking graduate classes, new computer program...nope, not ready at all!!!

Good lucky with all your busy running around like crazyness...but be happy you only have three little ones to deal with ;) hehe

Enjoy the last week of summer!! (yes, it's still summer, even though it's only 50 degrees out right now. I Swear it is!). :)

Hi, Marybeth!

Where I'm from, it'll take a while for it to feel like fall. Usually the leaves don't start changing here until the end of October. But the weather is a bit cooler this week, and it making me dream of that nip in the air. I'm exciting for the writing that will come!

Good luck this week! I hope you are able to find time to write!

I plan to go into this new routine with a little bit of 'lazy'. No use in going into shock, right?

I'm trying to use this week too to finish getting ready for starting school. I love having more free time, but ultimately I know that I work more efficiently when I have less time!

I too am doing much of the same as you. Preparing kids for earlier bed times and earlier wake up times as it all begins next week for my youngest. We are already in full swing with my oldest.

I totally hear you. I've been blogging in spurts of three minutes here and ten minutes at lunch. Luckily, I still have Mondays off and I spend a lot of time catching up.

Good luck with all the taxing.

I hardly remember what summer was...I'm in my fourth week at school already. No fun. No fun at all.

Wow! That sounds crazy. I'm adding pre-K to the homeschooling curriculum, but other than that, everything's pretty much the same for me. :D

This is my fifth week back to school, but the craziness is winding down now. I like school starting up because my teens go to bed on time and I don't have to stay up late waiting up for them!!! More sleep and routine will make for a happier me. :)
