Share your Magical Secrets with Me!
Ok I'll admit it. I totally have not caught up on all my blog reading as of late. (GASP!!) There are just so many to read and so little time and yesterday I had the lovely privilege of getting my Second Filling in the last week. So half the day I couldn't even feel my face!
(I really kinda enjoy imagining all the mental pictures you are all getting right now!)
So it is now that I will admit, I have been defeated! I have tried and tried and I feel like I will never catch up! BUT I still love you all. And I'm still going to continue trying through out the day.
How do YOU do it? How do you keep up with all your followed blogs? Is there a magic secret I need to learn to make the day at least an hour longer in order to sneak in a few extra comments on each one? TELL ME YOUR SECRETS!!!
That being said. I shall stop writing right now and spend my blogging time reading instead. And tomorrow hopefully I'll have come up with something witty and exciting to right about!

Wish I had the answer but I am TOTALLY sucking at blog hopping right now (as you've probably noticed by my general lack of commenting). If you find out the secret please, do tell!
Also, sorry about your filling. Glad you're not drooling anymore. #slurp
If you read the blogs on Google Reader, set up several folders on there: M-W-F, T-Th, Sat-Sun and divide the blogs you subscribe to into days of the week. But make sure your T-Th folks don't blog only on M-W-F, etc.
Good luck with the blog hopping and the filling!

Should I really reveal my secrets?
I did a google reader thing too. Only mine is labled Daily, Weekly, Monthly (because that is how often I try to read the blogs within). There are some blogs (like yours) that I really like to read everyday. I miss a few, but I get most of them in my everyday folder. Then I have blogs that I read once a week and ones that I check in on every month or so. (is that bad to admit?) I think I follow almost 200 blogs now so I don't think there's any way I could read every one everyday. So I read the ones I really like and I read the ones written by people who frequently comment on my blog, and I skim the rest to see if anyone has something interesting to say (and I don't always comment on any of them). It's not a perfect system, but it's worked pretty well.
Elana is the master of blog following. I mean, she's a whiz at following blogs. I think she opens them all up in separate windows and then - wham, bam, abracadabra - she's off and reading, comment, click, close, on to the next one, read, comment, click, close . . .
I'm not near as good. I just try my best.
Oh, and I hate to tell you, but the world's not going to end if you miss reading a blog or two. Nope, not gonna happen.
Yeah. Google Reader is great.
Also, when I'm behind, I skip or skim editor and agent blogs. They're not going to care if I don't comment or read once in a while.
My secret: I don't keep up on my followed blogs! There's noway that could be possible. Instead, I scan through them and look for what I need that day, a trivial fact, inspiration, or just a good laugh. I usually get what I need and continue on with my day.
There's no need to feel guilty for not reading everyone's thoughts, nor should you feel like you are in a marathon that you just cannot finish.
I use the dashboard and work my through whatever I can AFTER I visit my must-read favorites. I try to spread the love throughout the week, but there are b logs I MUST read every day. :-)
I limit how many blogs I follow and visit ones I don't who comment on mine as much as I can.
I use Google Reader. I have a few must reads (need to be better about getting these organized into folders) daily. Then, I zip through looking for post titles that intrigue me, the rest..."Mark All As Read" sorry to say.
Lesson learned? Give your posts good titles.
Looks like I need to learn how to use the Google Reader. That may be a new project for tomorrow!
I am new to Google Reader and trying to set up a schedule. As for before the reader..um..yeah.. much like you it is a shot in the dark and hopefully I hit the board and not the guy holding it!
I do have favorites that I MUST read daily, but on a whole I try to spread the love and the comments!
I don't use Google Reader and I don't follow as many blogs as you, I bet. I pretty much only follow those who regularly comment on mine (and by follow that means I comment on their's regularly) and I also comment on everyone who comments on mine. Then, when I have time, I'll go through my followers and try to hit their blogs.
Don't feel bad. I know I feel bad when I miss people's posts, but at the same time, everyone understands that we only have so much time in the day. :-) Good luck in figuring out the best way to handle this. :-)
My method? I comment on blogs that I've followed longest and have a strog connection to. I also try to comment on blogs belong to people who comment on mine...hey, their names are right there. One click and you're there. As for the rest, it's sort of eeny-meeny-miney-moh, usually aiming for those with catchy titles or interesting photos/info. Good luck! It's a difficult thing to do. I've fallen way behind myself. Just writing blog post can take ages. And then following all the blogs can take hours. Must pick and choose on what to comment on, I think.
I have these tabs in my Windows so I open each blog post in a tab. Then I just read, comment if I have something to say and move on to the next. If I just don't have the time to read everything I only read the posts with titles that intrigue me.
Good luck with all your reading deary!
I go through Google Reader - it saves me having to remember whose blog I need to read. I scan the titles to see what seems interesting, and I often read them while I'm watching TV, or waiting for my dinner to cook. It makes me feel more productive than whipping out my DS...
