Out of sheer lack of creativity I caved and asked my four year old what I should blog about this morning. His answer....
Trees
I found this answer to be very insightful and interesting. A lot can be said about trees. They provide oxygen and shade, they are big and beautiful, sometimes they even smell good. Oh and lets not forget that they provide the PERFECT place to build little houses in. Tree houses rock!
My BFF from high school was nick named Tree. (And sadly...12 years later that is still what we call her)
Then we discussed what time of the year trees are our favorite. I threw out fall - when the trees are red and orange, spring - when the trees are bright green, and winter - when the trees are bare.
My favorite is a toss up between fall and spring. I love driving down the road and seeing the lush color coming from all the leaves. When I was young we used to go on "Color Tours" as our Sunday outing. (ya know ... before gas cost a bazillion dollars a gallon) Still, after a LONG winter with absolutely no color to my tress I find myself longing for that bright green foliage. So much so that I was more than happy to travel to NC a few years ago just to see green!
But my awesome four year old said, "I like it in the winter when the trees are covered in snow."
I hadn't even thrown out that gorgeous option!
So now that autumn is falling upon us, what is YOUR favorite time of year when it comes to trees?
(Hey...at least he didn't ask me to post about butter!)

Hi :)
Thank you for sharing.
Your 4 year old is awesome :)
I love the trees in Spring when the buds begin greening the trees.
I love the trees in Fall when they turn autumnal colors and the leaves litter the ground.
I love the trees in Winter when they are freshly dusted with snow or dripping with ice.
I love the trees in Summer when they are a thick verdant green.
:)
All the best,

I love a little girl named after a beautiful tree!
This is quite possibly the cutest blog I've ever seen :) I've actually been surfing your past posts which I never do!
I love trees anytime, but I think I might go with winter too because in the winter I know there are many many months before I'll have to rake leaves again.
You're right RK...it is hard to pick just one!
Becky (not Brian) I have an awesome Niece named after a Tree that I love ;)
Natalie Thanks for visiting my blogs and the compliments :) I love entertaining....may I suggest looking up Roger the Ant and The Invasion. They are my favorite! (March)
Hey, Marybeth!
I love the trees in late May. They are gorgeous. And the trees in October as well. It's a tie for me!
You're bringing me back to my youth. I've lived in the south for over 25 years now and nothing beats the autumn leaves of the north. Fall is, hands down, my favorite time of year for trees. (Great blog, btw! I'll be back!)
Kristen I'd have to agree with you...but maybe more in early may (at least in MI...where the weather is craptacular)
Jane my sister moved south too, but probably not far enough that she doesn't get autumn. I think I'd be lost without the color changing time of the year! Thanks for stopping by :)
Well, the leaves don't turn colors here, and we don't get snow. So I'd say my favorite time is the Spring when all the little buds start popping up and fill out so quickly that you can almost watch them grow.
I love fall. I love looking up to the mountains and seeing yellow, orange, red, green, etc. It's beautiful. And aren't 4-yo's fantastic? I have one at my house too, and she's a laugh a minute.
It's all about autumn. Jewel-toned trees, pumpkins everywhere, and cooler temps (well, maybe not in SoCal).
I need to get one of those 4 yr-olds. My dog and cat don't help me at all.
hhs
Fun post! Four year olds are so special and remarkably insightful. I like Aspen trees. They're beautiful in fall when they turn yellow but I think I like them best when spring it turning to summer and they're full and lush and green.
I love your four year old! Trees rock!
Autumn is also my favorite time of year for trees. All those colors, rich reds and yellows, ahh its so beautiful! Spring too, when the trees are in blossom - lovely. We have a lovely little cheery blossom tree in our front garden. Doesn't look like much until spring arrives and it goes all pink flowered! So beautiful!
I love trees, too! Good topic.
My favorite time is when they start growing back their leaves after winter and I know it's almost spring!
